I was wondering does shields or stronger weapons like hammer make you heavy
I was wondering does shields or stronger weapons like hammer make you heavy cuz i didnt play any BWE since the 2004 Oct which i wasnt concerned about every detail and werent making a ultimate build, i just went straight for trying if the game is nice.
So maybe if plate armour is heavy i might choose other armour, im not sure if there is anythign called "weight" in guildwars so just curious... |

There's no such thing as weight in Guild Wars. In fact, I can't think of any RPG (not counting Strategy RPGs) that's had weight as a variable. If any characters moved too slow to keep up with the group, I could see that ruining the game pretty quick.

actually Runescape (bad game) has weight, the more stuff in your inventory will make you consume running energy faster....

Diablo uses a weight penalty scale as well. Almost all typical ones do.
(ex. light..none../.medium..10% movement.../.. heavy... 20% movement) No penalties for weight exist in GuildWars at this time. Nor would I think they would want to institute one. In the game faqs floating around various sites, and the official site as well, they have always stated that the intention of the game was to get you off and playing. Not having to prepare to play. That being said, its safe to say there won't ever be weight penalties here. Why? Simply because if there were it would affect how you prepare your character. Not something they would want to intend. Without a penalty, all choices are equal (player's option..and non ruling) The only thing here that you worry about is space, and once you learn to manage that you are set. |

Dark Age of Camelot had weight as well. When I was smithing swords, I'd often lose track of what I was doing and make so many that I'd root myself to the spot. I literally couldn't move at all. Thank goodness nothing like that exists in Guild Wars.

Many many games have included weight, though some indirectly (like a hammer attacking slower). The effects of weight can even been seen in GW to an extent, but no where near a set of variables where all items affect you. We have a small inventory because it's only logical that you can't carry everything you find (though there are other reasons than just weight to blame for this). Weapons have different attack speeds because they can't be used as easily, but again, though this is a logical consequence of weight variation, it is hardly the main reason why we see effects like these.
Another game with weight: Westwoods Nox EDIT: Oh, and Morrowind too |

It would be horrible if GW has weight, considering there is currently no bank to put your stuff in. Even if a bank is put in place (account bank preferably) weight would still be horrible. I don't mind it on single player RPGs or console RPGs, but online ones just make it so limiting and annoying.
I'll never forget the pains of being "rooted" by having too much platinum in EQ. Luckily I was a druid so I had ways to counter this

I dread Imagined Burden
Elythor, that is the only weight I hope I never have to worry about unless I'm casting it on some poor sap.
